Don’t Waste Your Future e-LEARNING COURSES Teachers vs Early School Leaving: 1-0

Early school leaving (ESL) is rightly considered as one of the major challenges in education policy. Teachers across Europe need a strong support to face the challenges of everyday life with students that want to leave school earlier.
Don’t Waste Your Future project offers a concrete support for teachers dealing with the problem of Early School Leaving in their classes and for those young people who want to leave school and/or need a good reason to continue their education pathways.
Within our platform, you will find an e-Learning Area, which includes 8 e-Modules which cover the following topics:

• INTRODUCTORY MODULE: what is ESL and related problems in Europe and in partners’ countries?
• COOPERATIVE LEARNING: looks at how to implement the methodology of Cooperative Learning, by which small teams of students of different ability levels, use a variety of learning activities to improve their knowledge.
PEER EDUCATION: a teaching methodology by which young people from a similar age group, background, culture and/or social status educate and inform each other about a wide variety of topics.
PEDAGOGICAL DIFFERENTIATION: a strategy based on the principle that all the students are different, learn differently and have different rhythms that should be respected.
STUDENT TUTORING: based on personal and educational guidance, between a tutor and a student; in this case between students of two different education levels (Higher and Secondary Education).
• CONNECTING VET & WORK: how to develop some key competences that can help students in the transition from the educational system to the workplace.
7 BEST PRACTICES and practical examples of already implemented strategies for the direct involvement of young disadvantaged people in classrooms.
PERSONALISED LEARNING: considers a range of strategies aimed to improve not only lesson content, but of learning itself, equipping learners with the sets of skills they need to achieve key outcomes.

At the end of each module, you can download a certificate of completion.
